Josaphat Navarro came from a humble background in Benguet Province, Philippines. He started training in Muay Thai following his brother’s footsteps. His brother was training in Wushu and Muay Thai (with fighter’s like Edward Folayang) but it was Muay Thai that captured Josaphat’s attention. He trained in boxing as much of his training partners are boxers. 

Before stepping into boxing professionally, Josaphat has competed in 75 Muay Thai fights. Boxing coaches saw a huge potential in him only to be proven when he fought in his pro boxing fight winning in a dominant fashion despite being a last minute replacement.
