  • Brianda Tamara Cruz Sandoval is one of Mexico’s most accomplished female boxers of her generation and a rising contender in the professional welterweight division. Born on December 21, 1998, in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, Mexico, Cruz built her reputation as an elite amateur before transitioning to the professional ranks and establishing herself as a promising force in women’s boxing.

    Standing 5’7” and fighting primarily in the welterweight and junior middleweight divisions, Cruz combines technical skill, strong fundamentals, and the aggressive Mexican fighting spirit that has made her one of the most respected emerging fighters in the sport.

 Amateur Career and International Success

    •   Represented Mexico at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo after qualifying through the international Olympic boxing qualifiers.  Bronze Medalist – 2019 Pan American Games (Lima, Peru) in the women’s welterweight division.  

    •    Eight-time Mexican National Champion across multiple weight divisions.  
   •    Amateur record of approximately 62 wins and 8 losses, making her one of the most successful female amateurs in Mexican boxing during her era.  
   •    Multiple international gold medals in tournaments including the International Cup, La Romana International Cup, National Elite Championships, and Quadrangular tournaments.  
Her Olympic appearance was historically significant as part of the early generation of Mexican women competing at the highest level of international boxing.
